ABOUT
REBUILD

Learn building and repair skills in woodworking, electronics, textiles, upcycling, and more!

Rebuild is like the shop class you always wished you had—hands-on, low-pressure, and endlessly useful. We promote essential skills in woodworking, textiles, and home repairs through creative reuse and practical projects. Our workshops are designed to be accessible, helping you build confidence, self-sufficiency, and a DIY mindset in a welcoming space. No experience? No problem—we provide the tools, guidance, and community to help you jump in, make mistakes, and walk away with something real. At Rebuild, we believe everyone deserves the skills to shape their own space—so come hang out, get your hands dirty, and learn the stuff they never taught you in school!

PAST PROJECTS

POPUPS

Rebuild offers a unique and sustainable approach to interactive learning through its pop-up table options.

Clients can choose from various upcycled materials, including cardboard, electronics, wood, fabric, and other creatively repurposed items. Based on the themes and focus of the client, Rebuild will design a pop-in or timed workshop option to engage participants in hands-on experiences. From crafting cardboard costumes to sewing fabric patches and constructing wooden mini-cities, Rebuild fosters creativity and environmental consciousness, turning discarded materials into opportunities for education, artistic expression, and community engagement.

Rebuild is the passion project of Mx. Julia(n) Rich (they/he), an educator and makerspace manager specializing in creative reuse in maker education.

Seeing a need for adults to learn the same hands-on skills they were teaching their students, Julia(n) founded Rebuild to offer approachable, sustainable handy and mending classes for all ages. Held in libraries, community spaces, and creative reuse stores, Rebuild is rooted in the belief that we—and the objects we love—are not disposable. Classes empower participants to repair, build, and reimagine, treating making as a form of care and resistance against a culture of disposability. Whether through woodworking, electronics, textiles, or craft, Rebuild fosters independence and connection, helping people see the materials around them as part of a larger story—one that can be sustained, transformed, and passed on.
